Lucknow, April 10, 2025 – The weather across Uttar Pradesh has taken a dramatic turn as heavy rain, thunderstorms, and hailstorms hit multiple districts, including the state capital, Lucknow. Dense clouds covered the skies early in the morning, turning day into night, and causing widespread power outages in several areas.
Triggered by an active western disturbance, the weather phenomenon has affected over 45 districts, especially in the eastern Terai region. The Regional Meteorological Centre in Lucknow has issued alerts predicting wind speeds of 40–50 km/h, thunder, and lightning in many parts of the state, including Bahraich, where large hailstones were reported.
Meteorologists warn that the combination of easterly and westerly winds will intensify rainfall and expand its reach. Daytime temperatures are expected to drop by 2–4°C, while nighttime temperatures may slightly rise. The stormy weather is likely to persist until April 13.
Meanwhile, cities like Agra, Jhansi, Prayagraj, Kanpur, and Muzaffarnagar have already been battling intense heat, with temperatures soaring past 40°C earlier this week.
